Roof Headlining: Removal: Removal

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the 10 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

  5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.
  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  7. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the garnish from the base of the 2 clips.

      *1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip

      HINT: 

      Let the front pillar garnish LH hang from the front pillar garnish clip.

    2. Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nosed pliers and pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration to remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.

      NOTE:
      • Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and are not damaged.
      • Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.

      HINT: 

      Tape the tips of the needle-nosed pliers before use.

    3. Pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
    4. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      1. Cover the airbag with a piece of cloth or nylon and secure the edges of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  10. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for LH Side)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
  11. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  12. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws and 3 clips, and remove the center pillar lower garnish LH.

  13. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the clip.
    3. Pass the floor anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly LH through the center pillar upper garnish LH and remove the center pillar upper garnish LH.
  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  21. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  22. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  24. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 5 clamps, and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.

  25. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the roof side inner garnish assembly LH.
  26. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  27. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL 

  29. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 30
  30. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 34
  31. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 20
  32. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 35
  33. REMOVE LOWER SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 22
  34. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  35. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR COVER (w/ Rain Sensor)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  36. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  37. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  38. REMOVE SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  39. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the assist grip cover LH.

      NOTE:

      Do not forcibly pry the assist grip cover LH to prevent them from being deformed.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the assist grip cover RH.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    3. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip.

    4. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
  40. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the assist grip cover LH.

      NOTE:

    2. Remove the assist grip cover RH.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    3. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip.

    4. Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
  41. REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  42. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER (for LH Side) 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

  43. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. except "TORX" Screw:

      1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. for "TORX" Screw:
      1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 screws.
    3. Disengage the claw.
    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the visor assembly LH.
  44. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  45. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  46. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  47. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/ EC Mirror:
      1. Disconnect the connector from the inner rear view mirror.
    2. w/ Rain Sensor:
      1. Disconnect the connector from the rain sensor.
    3. w/ Sliding Roof:
      1. Disconnect the connector from the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly.
    4. for front pillar LH Side (for 1 Connector Type):
      1. Disengage the 4 clamps.

      2. Disconnect the connector.
    5. for front pillar LH Side (for 2 Connector Type):
      1. Disengage the 4 clamps.

      2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    6. for Front Pillar RH Side:

      1. Remove the bolt.
      2. Disengage the guide and disconnect the bracket.
      3. Disengage the 3 clamps.
    7. for Rear Pillar RH Side (w/o Satellite Radio):
      1. Disengage the clamp.

      2. Disconnect the connector.
    8. for Rear Pillar RH Side (w/ Satellite Radio):
      1. Disengage the 2 clamps.

      2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    9. for Roof Side (w/o Sliding Roof):

      1. Slide the roof headlining assembly to disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        Leave the 4 clips in the vehicle.

    10. for Roof Side (w/ Sliding Roof):

      *a Fastener *b Guide
      1. Disengage the 8 fasteners.
      2. Slide the roof headlining assembly to disengage the 4 clips and guide as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        Leave the 4 clips in the vehicle.

    11. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front passenger door as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior.

    12. Remove the 4 clips from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
