DTC P314A-828: Inverter Coolant Pump Speed Signal: Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP) NOTE:
Be sure to perform the inspection with the auxiliary battery voltage at 11 V or more.
HINT:
When the auxiliary battery voltage is low, the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor) may not operate.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Activate the Water Pump.
- Perform the Activate the Water Pump Active Test.
- Touch the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor) and check that it is operating (vibrating).
OK
The inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor) is operating (vibrating).
- Turn the ignition switch off.
NG → See step 6
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY (W/ MOTOR) CONNECTOR) See step 10
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY (W/ MOTOR))
- Disconnect connector A65 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Disconnect connector A52 from the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor).

- Disconnect connector A52 from the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Remove the INV W/P fuse from the engine room relay block No. 2.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Remove the IGCT MAIN relay from the engine room relay block No. 2.
- Disconnect connector A65 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Disconnect connector A52 from the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Install the INV W/P fuse.
- Install the IGCT MAIN relay.
- Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
- Connect the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor) connector.

- Connect the inverter water pump assembly (w/ motor) connector securely.
NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P)
- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- Repair or replace the wire harness or connector.
NEXT → REPLACE FUSE (INV W/P)
- REPLACE INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY (W/ MOTOR). Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
