DTC P3107-215: Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    B → See step   11 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CLEAR DTC See step   3 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P3107-215 is not output. A
      DTC P3107-215 is output again. B
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → See step   9 

  5. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    2. Connect an oscilloscope between the center airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

      Terminal D30-14 (GSW2) - D30-25 (E1)
      Equipment Setting 5 V/DIV., 500 ms/DIV.
      Condition Ignition switch ON (READY)

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) See step   6 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY) See step   7 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   9 

  9. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  11. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
