DTC P2102: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit Low; DTC P2103: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High: Procedure

  1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (RESISTANCE OF THROTTLE ACTUATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (M+) - 1 (M-) 20°C (68°F) 0.3 to 100 Ω
    3. Reconnect the throttle body connector.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THROTTLE BODY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B27-2 (M+) - B48-18 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω
      B27-1 (M-) - B48-19 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B27-2 (M+) or B48-18 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B27-1 (M-) or B48-19 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.
    5. Reconnect the throttle body connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (VISUALLY CHECK THROTTLE VALVE) 
    1. Check for foreign objects between the throttle valve and the housing.

      OK

      No foreign objects between the throttle valve and housing.

    NG → REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECT AND CLEAN THROTTLE BODY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (THROTTLE VALVE) 
    1. Check if the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.

      OK

      Throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   7 

  5. REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  7. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL
