DTC P0A94-557: DC / DC Converter Performance: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      HINT: 

      • *1: If any INF codes are output for this DTC, refer to the corresponding diagnostic flowchart above.
      • Turning the power switch on (IG) with the service plug grip and inverter cover removed causes interlock switch system DTC P0A0D-350 to be output.
      • P0A94-557 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.

    YES → GO TO  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  DTC CHART 

    NO: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK AMOUNT OF GASOLINE See step   2 

    NG → REFUEL VEHICLE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK ENGINE START See step   3 

    OK → See step   6 

    NG: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REVOLUTION (P POSITION) See step   4 

    OK → See step   6 

    NG: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REVOLUTION (N POSITION) See step   5 

    NG → See step   42 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE ENGINE ASSEMBLY 

  6. CHECK QUANTITY OF HV COOLANT See step   3 

    B → ADD COOLANT 

    C → CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AND ADD COOLANT 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK COOLANT HOSE See step   4 

    NG → CORRECT THE PROBLEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP) See step   5

  9. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN) See step   6

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK GENERATOR RESOLVER. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - MOTOR RESOLVER). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK MOTOR RESOLVER. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4

  15. CHECK INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY (GENERATOR CABLE CONNECTION CONDITION). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 5 

    NG → TIGHTEN TO SPECIFIED TORQUE

  16. CHECK INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY (MOTOR CABLE CONNECTION CONDITION). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → TIGHTEN TO SPECIFIED TORQUE

  17. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY (MG1). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 6

  46. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
