Valve Body Assembly: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 
  2. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and oil strainer.
      NOTE: Be careful as some fluid will come out of the oil strainer.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the oil strainer.

  5. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the transmission wire from the 5 connectors.
    2. Remove the bolt, lock plate and ATF temperature sensor.

  6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the valve body and remove the 17 bolts and valve body.
      NOTE: Be careful not to drop the check ball body, spring and accumulator piston.

    2. Remove the check ball body and spring.
  7. REMOVE MANUAL VALVE 
    1. Remove the manual valve from the valve body.
