Parking Brake Cable: Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  2. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the rear disc brake cylinder.
      NOTE:
      • Do not disconnect the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder.
      • Do not twist or bend the flexible hose.
    2. Hang the disc brake cylinder with a piece of wire.

  3. REMOVE REAR DISC  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUBASSEMBLY LH  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  8. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
  9. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Cool Box)  (See REPLACEMENT )
  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Cool Box) 
    1. Remove the front seat assembly LH (See REMOVAL ).
  11. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUBASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUBASSEMBLY RH  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  17. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUBASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE CONSOLE CUP HOLDER BOX SUBASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  20. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Cool Box)  (See REMOVAL )
  21. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  22. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ o Cool Box)  (See REMOVAL )
  23. REMOVE COOLING BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Cool Box)  (See REMOVAL )
  24. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the adjusting nut.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the No. 1 parking brake pull rod.

    3. Pinch the claws of the No. 2 parking brake cable and push the cable outside of the vehicle slightly.
    4. Incline the fuel tank (See REMOVAL ).

    5. Remove the 6 bolts and No. 2 parking brake cable.

    6. Remove the No. 2 parking brake cable clamp from the No. 2 parking brake cable.
  25. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the adjusting nut.

    2. Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable from the No. 1 parking brake pull rod.

    3. Pinch the claws of the No. 3 parking brake cable and push the cable outside of the vehicle slightly.
    4. Remove the 6 bolts and No. 3 parking brake cable.

    5. Remove the No. 3 parking brake cable clamp from the No. 3 parking brake cable.
