Section 51 (Engine Cooling System): Thermostat: Removal

HINT:

Removal of the thermostat would have an adverse effect, causing a lowering of cooling efficiency. Do not remove the thermostat, even if engine tends to overheat.

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See  COOLANT   ) 
  3. REMOVE WATER INLET 
    1. Remove the 3 nuts, water inlet and gasket.

  4. REMOVE THERMOSTAT 
    1. Remove the thermostat from the water inlet.
    2. Remove the gasket from the thermostat.
