Inspection Procedure

NOTE: It is necessary to register an ID code after replacing the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly and/or the tire pressure monitor ECU (see REGISTRATION ).

HINT:

When not using the intelligent tester, go to step 1.

READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER

Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch ON, and push the intelligent tester main switch ON.
Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read its value displayed on the intelligent tester.

Check that the values indicated on the tester and the combination meter are the same.

Tire pressure monitor ECU

OK:

Indicates actual speed.

OK: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - COMBINATION METER)

Disconnect the C15 combination meter connector.
Disconnect the T25 ECU connector.

Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance

RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITIONS

Tester Connection	Specified Condition
T25-3 (SPD) - C15-16	Below 1 Ω
T25-3 (SPD) - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU

Connect the T25 ECU connector.
Connect the C15 combination meter connector.

Measure the voltage of the ECU as the front wheel is turned.

HINT:

As the vehicle speed (wheel revolution speed) increases, a cycle of the waveform narrows.
