Inspection Procedure

1. Remove the ABS1/VSC1 fuse from the engine room R/B.

2. Measure the resistance.

   Standard resistance: 

   Below 1 Ω 

NG: CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

2. Measure the voltage.

   Standard voltage 

   VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   A15-23 (+BM) - Body ground	11 to 14 V

3. Measure the resistance

   Standard resistance 

   RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   A15-2 (GND1) - Body ground	Below 1 Ω
   A15-24 (GND2) - Body ground	Below 1 Ω

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the tester on.
4. Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
5. Perform the active test using the Techstream. Select the following menu items: Chassis / ABS/VSC/ TRC / Active Test.

   ACTIVE TEST: ABS 

   ABS ACTIVE TEST REFERENCE
   
   

   Tester Display	Test Part	Diagnostic Note
   MOTOR RELAY	Turns ABS motor relay ON or OFF	Operating sound of motor can be heard

6. Check for the operation sound of the ABS motor when operating it with the Techstream.

   OK: 

   The operation sound of the ABS motor can be heard. 

NG: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR (See  REMOVAL   ) 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Clear the DTC(s) (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
2. Start the engine.
3. Drive the vehicle at 4 mph (6 km/h) or more to activate the initial check.
4. Check if the same DTC(s) is output (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

   Result
