How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

• Use these procedures to troubleshoot the tire pressure warning system.
• *: Use the Techstream.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

   Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V 

   If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
   1. Interview the customer to confirm the trouble.

      HINT:

      It is important to collect as much specific information as possible from the customer to allow for a quick repair.

4. ADJUST TIRE PRESSURE* 
   1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
   2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
   3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
   4. Turn the Techstream on.
   5. Read the "ID Tire Inflation Pressure" values. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
   6. Set the pressure of all the wheels to the specified value (See TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM  ).
   7. Check the Data List (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).

      HINT:

      • It take about 2 or 3 minutes to display the updated tire pressure data.
      • If the problem is that the tire pressure decreases, wait until all of the tire pressure data is received by the ECU. If the data is received, the tire pressure warning light will goes off.

5. CHECK FOR DTC* 
   1. Check for DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
   2. Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
   3. Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

8. CIRCUIT INSPECTION* 
   1. Refer to the ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
9. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
   1. Repair or replace parts based on the diagnosis result.
10. CONFIRMATION TEST* 
    1. Check the Data List to confirm that the tire inflation pressure has been received (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
