Differential Oil Seal: Replacement

DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID
1. Remove the drain plug, gasket and drain the ATF.
2. Install a new gasket and drain plug.
  Torque: 47 N*m (479 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the drive shaft (see REMOVAL ).
REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET
1. Remove the 3 bolts and bracket.
REMOVE TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL LH AND RH
1. Using SST, tap out the oil seal LH.

2. Using SST, tap out the oil seal RH.

INSTALL TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL LH AND RH
1. Coat the lip of a new oil seal LH with MP grease.
2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal LH.
  SST 09223-15020, 09950-70010 (09951-07150)
  
  Standard depth:
  
  0 +-0.5 mm (0 +-0.020 in.)

3. Coat the lip of a new oil seal RH with MP grease.
4. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal RH.
  SST 09316-60011 (09316-00011)
  
  Standard depth:
  
  0 +-0.5 mm (0 +-0.020 In.)

INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET
1. Install the bracket with the 3 bolts.
  Torque: 64 N*m (653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf)
INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Install the front drive shaft (see INSTALLATION ).
ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID
Fluid type:

Toyota Genuine ATF WS or Equivalent
INSPECT TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL
1. Inspect the transaxle fluid level (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
