FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Sedan): Reassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp surfaces on the front seat adjuster frame could cause injuries to your hands.

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the driver side of LHD. Use the same procedure for both the front passenger and driver sides of LHD, unless otherwise specified.

  1. INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Provisionally install the seat position sensor.
      NOTE:
      • If the seat position sensor has been damaged, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one.
      • When installing the seat position sensor, make sure that the SRS warning does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
    2. Install a 1 mm (0.04 in.) feeler gauge between the seat rail and seat position sensor, as shown in Fig 2 .

      HINT:

      Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and seat rail is within 0.6 to 2 mm (0.023 to 0.079 in.).

    3. Push the top of the seat position sensor toward the seat rail.
    4. While holding the seat position sensor, tighten the bolt using "Torx" socket wrench T30.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (80 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Engage the pin and install a new seat position sensor protector.

      NOTE: Do not damage portion A when installing the seat position sensor protector.
  3. INSTALL OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Engage the claw and install the occupant detection ECU.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE 
    1. Install the front seat wire with the 2 clamps.
    2. Connect the 5 connectors.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR 
    1. Install the 2 front seat cushion protectors.

  6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD RH 
    1. w/ Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Engage the claw and install the front seat cushion lower shield.
      2. Tighten the screw.

    2. w/o Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Engage the 2 claws and install the front seat cushion lower shield.
      2. Tighten the screw.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION LOWER SHIELD LH 
    1. w/ Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Engage the 2 claws and install the front seat cushion lower shield.
      2. Tighten the screw.

    2. w/o Vertical Adjuster:
      1. Engage the claw and install the front seat cushion lower shield.
      2. Tighten the screw.

  8. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH 
    1. Install the reclining adjuster outside cover with the screw.
  9. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  10. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH 
    1. Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster inside cover.
    2. Tighten the screw.

  11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH 
    1. Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster inside cover.
    2. Tighten the screw.
    3. w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:
      1. Install the clamp.

  12. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER (w/ Vertical Adjuster) 
    1. Engage the claw and install the vertical adjuster spacer.

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER PAD 
    1. Install the front seatback cover pad.

    2. Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

    3. Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

  14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for both sides.

    1. Align the protruding portion of the front seat headrest support with the installation groove of the front seat adjuster frame.
    2. Engage the 2 claws and install the front seat headrest support.

  15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD 
    1. Install the front seat cushion cover pad with the 2 clips.

    2. Engage the 2 claws and the 7 hooks.

  16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION OUTER SHIELD 
    1. Engage the 2 claws and the clip and install the front seat cushion outer shield.
    2. Tighten the screw.

  17. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE 
    1. Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster release handle.

  18. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER KNOB (w/ Vertical Adjuster) 
    1. Install the vertical seat adjuster knob.

  19. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER COVER (w/ Vertical Adjuster) 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and install the vertical adjuster cover.

  20. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD 
    1. Engage the claw and the clip and install the front seat cushion inner shield.
    2. Tighten the screw.
  21. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  )
