Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REGULATOR CONTROL CURRENT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON
    3. Turn the tester on.
    4. Select the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Air Conditioner / Data List /
    5. According to the display on the tester, read the "Data List".

    DATA LIST / AIR CONDITIONER 

    DIAGNOSTIC NOTE AND MEASUREMENT ITEM / DISPLAY RANGE

    Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
    Regulator Control Current Regulator control current / Min.: 0A Max.: 0.997 A Value changes between 0 A and 0.997 A in accordance with compressor and pulley operation

    OK: The display is as specified in the normal condition column. 

    Result

    OK (When troubleshooting according to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ) B
    OK (When troubleshooting according to the DTC) C

    B: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    C: REPLACE  AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER  

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. INSPECT COMPRESSOR AND PULLEY 
    1. Disconnect the C8 compressor and pulley connector.
    2. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C8-1 - C8-2 10.1 to 11.1 Ω at 25°C (77°F)
    3. Reconnect the compressor and pulley connector.

    NG: REPLACE COMPRESSOR AND PULLEY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR AND PULLEY - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER) 
    1. Disconnect the C8 compressor and pulley connector.
    2. Disconnect the E8 air conditioning amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C8-1 - E8-7 (SOL+) Below 1 Ω
      C8-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the compressor and pulley connector.
    5. Reconnect the air conditioning amplifier connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR AND PULLEY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the C8 compressor and pulley connector.
    2. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C8-2 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the compressor and pulley connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE  AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
