NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE (for Hatchback): Removal

HINT:

The procedure described below is for the LH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Power Window) 
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ARMREST COVER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL 
   1. w/ Power Window:
      1. Remove the front door armrest base upper panel (See DISASSEMBLY ).
   2. w/o Power Window:
      1. Remove the front door armrest base upper panel (See DISASSEMBLY ).
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)  (See DISASSEMBLY )
5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
   1. w/ Power Window:
      1. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly (See DISASSEMBLY ).
   2. w/o Power Window:
      1. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly (See DISASSEMBLY ).
6. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY  (See OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (FOR SEDAN) or OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (FOR HATCHBACK) )
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOLDING (See REMOVAL  )
8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN  (See DISASSEMBLY )
9. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE 
   1. Using an infrared light, heat the black out tape.
      NOTE: Do not burn yourself with the heated front door panel or infrared light.

      HINT:

      Heat at 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F) for 3 to 5 minutes.

   2. Lift the end portion with your nail and peel it parallel to the attachment surface.
