FRONT DOOR BELT MOLDING (for Hatchback): Removal

The procedure described below is for the LH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Power Window)
REMOVE FRONT DOOR ARMREST COVER (See DISASSEMBLY )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL
1. w/ Power Window:
  1. Remove the front door armrest base upper panel (See DISASSEMBLY ).
2. w/o Power Window:
  1. Remove the front door armrest base upper panel (See DISASSEMBLY ).
REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window) (See DISASSEMBLY )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. w/ Power Window:
  1. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly (See DISASSEMBLY ).
2. w/o Power Window:
  1. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly (See DISASSEMBLY ).
REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (See OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (FOR SEDAN) or OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (FOR HATCHBACK) )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW FRAME REAR MOLDING (for 3 Door) (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOLDING
1. for 5 Door:
  1. Apply protective tape to the door panel in the area around the front door belt molding.

  2. Using a molding remover, disengage the 5 claws and the clip and remove the front door belt molding.

2. for 3 Door:
  1. Apply protective tape to the door panel in the area around the front door belt molding.

  2. Using a molding remover, disengage the 5 claws and remove the front door belt molding.
