Section 175 (Engine Cooling System (2GR-FE)): Thermostat: Installation

INSTALL THERMOSTAT
1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat.
2. Install the thermostat with the jiggle valve facing upward.
  HINT:
  
  The jiggle valve can be set to within 10° of either side of the upward position.

INSTALL WATER INLET
1. Install the water inlet with the 2 nuts.
  Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the No. 2 idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley with the bolt.
  Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH
1. Install the engine mounting insulator RH with the 2 nuts and 5 bolts.
  Torque: 95 N*m (969 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf) for bolt 95 N*m (969 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf) for nut A 52 N*m (530 kgf*cm, 38 ft.*lbf) for nut B

INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (See appropriate step(s) under REMOVAL )
INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK
1. Install the radiator reservoir with the 2 bolts.
  Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (See appropriate step(s) under INSTALLATION )
INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See appropriate step(s) under INSTALLATION )
ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See REPLACEMENT )
CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH (See appropriate step(s) under REMOVAL )
INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR RH (See appropriate step(s) under INSTALLATION )
INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (See appropriate step(s) under INSTALLATION )
INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH
