Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (See appropriate step(s) under  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/Hood courtesy switch: Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts.

    3. Disconnect the cable and remove the lock.

  4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the lever.
    2. Disconnect the cable.

  5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the cable from the clamps, wire harness protector and wire harness grommet as shown in the illustration.
