Brake Pedal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
    NOTE: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    Refer to the instructions for removal of the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly. (See REMOVAL )

  3. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING 
  4. SEPARATE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS 
    1. Remove the clip and clevis pin and disconnect the push rod clevis from the brake pedal.
  5. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the pedal stroke sensor.
    3. Remove the 4 nuts, the bolt and the brake pedal support assembly.
