How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

Use this procedure to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.

The intelligent tester should be in step  3,  4.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
2. CHECK HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM

   Result	Proceed to
   When the Ignition switch is turned to the ACC or ON position, the vehicle does not respond normally and the hybrid control system also does not start.	A
   When the ignition switch is turned to the ACC or ON position, the vehicle responds normally, but the hybrid control system does not start.	B

   B:  Go To  HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM

   A: Go to Next Step 

3. CHECK FOR DTC 
   1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
   2. Delete the DTC (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
   3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggested.
      1. If no DTC reoccur, proceed to A.
      2. If any DTC (engine immobilizer system) reoccurs, proceed to B (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

   B: Go to DTC CHART 

   A: Go to Next Step 

4. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER 
   1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
   2. Turn the ignition switch on and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
   3. Select item KEY SW in the DATA LIST and read the value displayed on the intelligent tester.

   NG: Go to B2780 

   OK: Go to Next Step 

5. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
   1. If the fault is not listed on the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE , proceed to A.
   2. If the fault is listed on the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE , proceed to B.

   A: After repair, go to step  8

   B: Go to Next Step 

6. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
   1. Inspection with the intelligent tester (ECU DATA MONITOR).
   2. Inspection with the intelligent tester (ACTIVE TEST).
   3. See TERMINALS OF ECU .
7. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
8. CONFIRMATION TEST
