DTC Check / Clear
- DTC CHECK/CLEAR (USING SST CHECK WIRE:)
- DTC check
- Using SST, short-circuit terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
SST 09843-18040
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Read and record DTCs from the door warning light on the combination meter. As an example, refer - to the chart below for the blinking patterns of the normal system code and diagnostic trouble code 42.
HINT:
- If the door warning light does not blink in the DTC blinking pattern, or the normal system code blinking pattern, inspect the multiplex communication system (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- The door warning light circuit uses BEAN for communication. If there are any malfunctions in the circuit, check for DTCs in the multiplex communication system (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
- Using SST, short-circuit terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
- DTC clear
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- If DTCs are indicated, repair the relevant circuits referring to the DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART (See ).
- Clear the DTCs according to either one of the following procedures.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable for 60 seconds.
- Remove the ECU-B fuse for 60 seconds.
- Recheck DTCs.
- DTC check
- DTC CHECK/CLEAR (USING INTELLIGENT TESTER:)
- DTC check
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Read DTCs on the tester screen.
- DTC clear
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Clear the DTCs following the prompts on the tester screen.
HINT:
The intelligent tester has a SNAPSHOT function which records the monitored data.
Refer to the intelligent tester operator's information for further details.
- DTC check
- SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE (OPERATING IGNITION KEY CYLINDER:)
- Switch to self-diagnostic mode.
- Establish the vehicle's initial conditions (See OPERATION CHECK ).
- Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and remove it.
- Within 5 seconds after the key is removed, insert it into the ignition key cylinder.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and then off.
- Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition switch off, perform the following 9 more times: Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and then off.
HINT:
- Turning the ignition switch to the ON position after the procedure above has been completed will end the self-diagnostic mode.
- Do not lock or unlock doors while performing the self-diagnostic mode.
NOTE: If the self-diagnostic mode cannot be achieved, the system will return to normal mode.
- Check that the system has switched to self-diagnostic mode by checking the flashes of the interior light.
- Check the diagnostic outputs when the door control transmitter switch is held down. The diagnostic outputs can be checked by the flash patterns of the interior light.

- Switch to self-diagnostic mode.
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
