Brake Booster: Installation

1. Install the grommet and check the valve assembly.
2. Install a new brake booster gasket to the brake booster assembly.
3. Install the push rod clevis and lock nut to the brake booster assembly.

   HINT:

   After adjusting the brake pedal height, torque the lock nut.

4. Install the brake booster assembly with the 4 nuts.

   Torque: 12.7 N*m (130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

5. Install the 2 or 3 brake tubes to the clamp.

6. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster assembly.
7. Using SST, connect the front brake tube No. 5.

   SST 09023-00101 

   Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

   NOTE: Make sure that the grommet is installed correctly.

Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

1. Install the air cleaner case with 3 bolts, then install the air cleaner element to the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

1. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid (see BLEEDING ).

1. Bleed the master cylinder (see BLEEDING ).

1. Bleed the brake line (see BLEEDING ).

1. Check and adjust the brake pedal height (see ADJUSTMENT ).

1. Check the pedal free play (see ADJUSTMENT ).

1. Check the pedal reserve distance (see ADJUSTMENT ).

1. Check the fluid level in reservoir (see BLEEDING  ).

1. Inspect the brake booster assembly (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
