Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See
CALIBRATION ).
- INSPECT DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (Tc TERMINAL)
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (Tc TERMINAL) .
Standard:
DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (Tc TERMINAL)Tester Connection Specified Condition D3-13 (TC) - D3-4 (CG) 10 to 14 V NG: Go to step 3
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU)
1MZ, 3MZ:
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and ECM connector E6.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU (1 OF 2)
.
Standard:
ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-8 (TRC+) - E6-25 (TRC+) Below 1 S1-22 (TRC-) - E6-31 (TRC-) Below 1 S1-9 (ENG+) - E6-24 (ENG+) Below 1 S1-23 (ENG-) - E6-30 (ENG-) Below 1 - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU (2 OF 2) .
Standard:

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
2AZ:
- Check CAN communication system (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
OK: CAN communication system is normal.
NG: CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND)
- Measure the resistance according to the value in DLC3 - BODY GROUND .
Standard:
DLC3 - BODY GROUNDTester Connection Specified Condition D3-4 (CG) - Body ground Below 1 NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3)
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM - DLC3 (1 OF 2)
.
Standard:
ECM - DLC3 (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition (1MZ,3MZ) E6-20 (TC) - D3-13 (TC) Below 1 (2AZ) E7-17 (TC) - D3-13 (TC) Below 1 - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM - DLC3 (2 OF 2) .
Standard:
ECM - DLC3 (2 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition D3-13 (TC) - Body ground 10 k or higher NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU)
1MZ, 3MZ:
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and ECM connector E6.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU (1 OF 2)
