Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See
CALIBRATION ).
- INSPECT SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT
WHEN USING HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the "SLIP INDI LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the SLIP indicator light on the hand-held tester.SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT (USING HAND-HELD TESTER)
Item Vehicle Condition / Test Details Diagnostic Note SLIP INDI LIGHT Turns SLIP indicator light ON / OFF Observe combination meter - Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light can be shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.
OK:
The SLIP indicator light is turned ON or OFF in accordance with the hand-held tester.
WHEN NOT USING HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
- Ground terminal IND of the skid control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Check that the SLIP indicator light comes on.
OK:
The light ON or OFF in accordance with the connecting condition of terminals GND and IND.
NG: Go to step 2
OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and combination meter connector C8.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER (1 OF 2)

Standard:
SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-34 (IND) - C8-13 Below 1 - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER (2 OF 2) .
Standard:

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Check combination meter assy (See COMBINATION METER ).
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See step 11 in REPLACEMENT )
OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT )
