Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step  2 when not using the hand-held tester.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SKID CONTROL BUZZER) 
   1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
   2. Start the engine.
   3. Select the item "VSC/BR WARN BUZ" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the skid control buzzer on the hand-held tester.

   4. Check that skid control buzzer sounds "ON" and "OFF" with the hand-held tester.

   OK: 

   The skid control buzzer sounds can be heard. 

   NG: Go to step 2 

   OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 

2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSY 
   1. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector V8.
   2. Apply a battery positive voltage to terminals 1 and 2 of the skid control buzzer connector, and check that the buzzer sounds.

   OK: 

   The buzzer sound can be heard. 

   NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSY 

   OK: Go to next step 

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU) 
   1. Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector V8 and the skid control ECU connector S1.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU (1 OF 2)  .

      Standard: 

      SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU (1 OF 2)
      
      

      Tester Connection	Specified Condition
      S1-30 (BZ) - V8-1 (BZ)	Below 1

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU (2 OF 2)  .

   Standard: 

   SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU (2 OF 2)
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   S1-30 (BZ) - Body ground	10 k or higher

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

   OK: Go to next step 

4. INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSY 
   1. Measure the voltage of the skid control buzzer IG1 circuit.

   Standard: 10 to 14 V 

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

   OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT  )
