Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION ).
  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (MOTOR RELAY) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
    4. Check for operation sound of the ABS motor individually when operating it with the hand-held tester.
    MOTOR RELAY

    Item Vehicle Condition / Test Details Vehicle Condition / Test Details
    ABS MOT RELAY ABS motor relay / ON/OFF ON: Motor relay ON

    OK: 

    The operation sound of the ABS motor should be heard. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 

  2. INSPECT HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND2 OF SKID CONTROL ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in GND2 OF SKID CONTROL ECU AND BODY GROUND  .

    Standard: 

    GND2 OF SKID CONTROL ECU AND BODY GROUND

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    S1-1 (GND2) - Body ground Below 1

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Are the same DTCs recorded? (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  )

    HINT:

    It is suspected that the DTCs output was caused by poor connection of the connector terminal.

    NO: END 

    YES: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT  )
