Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See
CALIBRATION ).
- CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH OPERATION (STOP LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT)
- Check that the stop light comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and goes off when the brake pedal is released.
OK: Stop lamp switch function is normal.
NG: Go to step 5
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP TERMINAL)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in Fig 1 .
Standard:
SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP TERMINAL)Tester Connection Switch condition Specified Condition S1-27 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal depressed 8 to 14 V S1-27 (STP) - Body ground Brake pedal released Below 1 V NG: Go to step 4
OK: Go to next step
- RECONFIRM DTC
- Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Are the same DTCs recorded? (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR )
NO: END
HINT:
It is suspected that the DTCs output was caused by poor connection of the connector terminal.
YES: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT )
- INSPECT STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch assy connector S14.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY .
Standard:

NG: REPLACE STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LAMP SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector S14 and skid control ECU connector S1.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in STOP LAMP SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU .
Standard:
