Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See
CALIBRATION ).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - ECM)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and the ECM connector E6.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - ECM (1 OF 2)
.
Standard:
SKID CONTROL ECU - ECM (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-10 (NEO) - E6-17 (NEO) Below 1 - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - ECM (2 OF 2) .
Standard:

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT ECM TERMINAL VOLTAGE (NEO TERMINAL)
- Reconnect the ECM connector E6 and the skid control ECU connector S1.
- Check the signal waveform betwen terminal NEO (E6-17) of the ECM and body ground for the engine conditions below in ECM TERMINAL VOLTAGE (NEO TERMINAL) .
OK:
A waveform similar to Fig 3 below is output.
ECM TERMINAL VOLTAGE (NEO TERMINAL)Tester Connection Engine Condition Specified condition E6-17 (NEO) - Body ground Engine stopped 4.5 to 14 V or below 1 V Idling 4.5 to 14 V < --> below 1 V (Pulse) Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
NG: REPLACE ECM
OK: Go to next step
- RECONFIRM DTC
- Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Are the same DTCs recorded? (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR )
NO: END
HINT:
This DTC may be memorized due to a malfunction in the connector terminal.
YES: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT )
