Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See
CALIBRATION ).
- INSPECT ABS WARNING LIGHT
WHEN USING HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3 and start the engine.
- Select the "ABS WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the ABS warning light on the hand-held tester.ABS WARNING LIGHT (USING HAND-HELD TESTER)
Item Vehicle Condition / Test Details Diagnostic Note ABS WARN LIGHT Turns ABS warning light ON / OFF Observe combination meter - Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light are shown on the combination meter with the hand-held tester.
OK:
The ABS warning light is turned ON or OFF in accordance with the hand-held tester.
WHEN NOT USING HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Check that the ABS warning light comes on.
OK:
ABS warning light comes on.
OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See step 3 in REPLACEMENT )
NG: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
- Disconnect the combination meter connector C8 and the skid control ECU connector S1.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER (1 OF 2)

SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-29 (WA) - C8-4 Below 1 - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER (2 OF 2) .
Standard:

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See step 11 in REPLACEMENT )
