Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Seat belt warning buzzer can be cancelled by buzzer ON/OFF setting (See CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ). Check the buzzer ON/OFF setting above the ODO/TRIP indicator.

1. CHECK BUZZER (KEY REMINDER WARNING, SEAT BELT WARNING) 
   1. Check that all of the warning buzzers sound.
   WARNING BUZZERS - REFERENCE TABLE
   
   

   All buzzers do not sound	A
   Key reminder warning buzzer does not sound	B
   Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound (D Belt)	C
   Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound (P Belt)	D

   B: Go to step 2 

   C: Go to step   7 

   D: Go to step   11 

   A: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE  OVERHAUL  ) 

2. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
   1. Remove the combination meter assy with the connectors still connected.
   2. Measure the voltage between terminal C8-8 of the combination meter assy and body ground.

   Standard: 

   COMBINATION METER ASSY - VOLTAGE TABLE
   
   

   Condition	Voltage (V)
   Insert the key to key cylinder, ignition switch is OFF and driver door opened.	10 to 14
   Insert the key to key cylinder, ignition switch is OFF and driver door closed.	Below 1

   NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE  OVERHAUL  ) 

   OK: Go to Next Step 

3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
   1. Disconnect the D6 connector.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

   FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH - RESISTANCE TABLE
   
   

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified condition
   D6-1 - Body ground	Driver side courtesy switch shaft is pushed in	10 kΩ or higher
   D6-1 - Body ground	Driver side courtesy switch shaft is free	Below 1 Ω

   NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 

   OK: Go to Next Step 

4. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
   1. Disconnect the U1 connector.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard: 

   UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH - RESISTANCE TABLE
   
   

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified condition
   U1-1 - U1-2	Ignition key is inserted	Below 1 Ω
   U1-1 - U1-2	Ignition key is not inserted	10 kΩ or higher

   NG: REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 

   OK: Go to Next Step 

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN BODY ECU AND FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH) 

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

   OK: Go to Next Step 

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN BODY ECU AND KEY UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY) 

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

   OK: REPLACE BODY ECU 

7. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
   1. Check driver seat belt warning operation.
   1. Remove the combination meter assy with the connectors still connected.
   2. Ground terminal C7-14 of the combination meter assy connector.
   3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   4. Check that the seat belt warning buzzer sounds.

   OK: Warning buzzer sounds. 

   NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE  OVERHAUL  ) 

   OK: Go to next step 

8. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) 
   1. Check the continuity in between terminals 2 (6) and 3 of the front seat inner belt assy (Driver Side).

   Standard: 

   FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) - CONTINUITY TABLE
   
   

   Condition	Continuity
   Seat belt is fastened	Continuity
   Seat belt is unfastened	No continuity

   ( ): TMMK Made

   NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) 

   OK: Go to Next Step 

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN COMBINATION METER ASSY AND FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (DRIVER SIDE)) 

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

   OK: Go to next step 

10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) AND BODY GROUND) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: CHECK BUZZER SETTING (See  CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS   ) 

11. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Check passenger seat belt warning operation.
    1. Remove the combination meter assy with the connectors still connected.
    2. Ground terminal C7-39 of the combination meter assy connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Check that the seat belt warning buzzer sounds.

    OK: Warning buzzer sounds. 

    NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE  OVERHAUL  ) 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

12. CHECK HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BETWEEN COMBINATION METER ASSY AND CLOCK) 

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO SEAT BELT WARNING CIRCUIT (See  SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP FOR PASSENGER'S SEAT DOES NOT OPERATE  )
