Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (+BS TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (1 OF 3)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-3 (+BS) - S1 -4 (GND1) 10 to 14 V S1-3 (+BS) - S1 - 1 (GND2) 10 to 14 V
- OK: Go to step 4
NG: Go to Next Step.
- INSPECT FUSE (ABS NO.3 FUSE)
- Remove the ABS No.3 fuse from the engine room J/B.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (2 OF 3)ABS No.3 fuse 1 Ω or less
- NG: CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESS AND CONNECTOR CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to Next Step.
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (GND TERMINAL CONTINUITY)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION (3 OF 3)Tester Connection Specified Condition S1 -4 (GND1) - Body ground 1 Ω or less S1 - 1 (GND2) - Body ground 1 Ω or less
- NG: CHECK AND REPAIR HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step.
- RECONFIRM DTC
- Clear the DTCs (See PRE-CHECK ).
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Are the same DTCs recorded? (See PRE-CHECK ).
HINT:
The skid control ECU inspects the motor relay circuit when the stop lamp switch is turned off and the vehicle is running at a speed of 4 mph (6 km/h) or more.
- NO: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
YES: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
