Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point CALIBRATION  .
  1. Check VSC warning buzzer operation. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Select ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
    ACTIVE TEST MODE REFERENCE

    Item Vehicle Condition/Test Details Diagnostic Note
    VSC/BR WARN BUZ Turns VSC/BRAKE warning buzzer ON/OFF Buzzer can be heard

    CHECK: 

    Check that the VSC warning buzzer sounds intermittently "ON" and "OFF".

    OK: 

    VSC warning buzzer sound can be heard in accordance with the hand-held tester. 

    1. OK : Replace master cylinder solenoid (See  DISASSEMBLY  ). 
    2. NG : Go to next step. 
  2. Check VSC warning buzzer. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Disconnect the VSC warning buzzer connector V11.

    CHECK: 

    Apply battery positive voltage to terminals 1 and 2 of the VSC warning buzzer, and check that the VSC warning buzzer sounds.

    OK: 

    VSC warning buzzer sound can be heard. 

    1. NG : Replace VSC warning buzzer. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  3. Check for open or short circuit in harness and connector between master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU) and VSC warning buzzer, and VSC warning buzzer IG circuit. 
    1. NG : Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK : Replace master cylinder solenoid (See  DISASSEMBLY  ).
