Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point CALIBRATION  .
  1. Check DTC (See  DTC CHECK / CLEAR   ). 

    CHECK: 

    Check DTCs.

    RESULT: 

    DTC OUTPUT RESULT

    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B
    1. B : Repair circuit according to the output code (See  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART   ). 
    2. A : Go to next step. 
  2. Measure the voltage between master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU terminal EXI) and body ground. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S29.

    CHECK: 

    1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    HINT:

    Move the vehicle either a little forward or a little backward to engage L4 position.

    OK: 

    SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL EXI VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    S29-27 (EXI) - Body ground Touch select 2-4 switch ON (4WD) Below 1 V
    S29-27 (EXI) - Body ground Touch select 2-4 switch OFF (2WD) 8 to 14 V
    1. NG : Check and repair EXI circuit. 
    2. OK : Replace master cylinder solenoid (See  DISASSEMBLY  ).
