Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point CALIBRATION .

Measure the voltage between master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU EXI terminal) and body ground.

PREPARATION:

Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S29.

CHECK:

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT:

Move the vehicle either a little forward or a little backward to engage L4 position.

OK:

ECU CONNECTOR S29 EXI TERMINAL VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
S29-27 (EXI) - Body ground	Touch select 2-4 switch ON (4WD)	Below 1.5 V
S29-27 (EXI) - Body ground	Touch select 2-4 switch OFF (2WD)	8 to 14 V

NG : Go to step 3 .
OK : Go to next step.

Reconfirm DTC (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
PREPARATION:

Clear the DTC.

CHECK:

Check if the same DTC is detected.

RESULT:
DTC OUTPUT RESULT

DTC is output A

DTC is not output B
1. B : END.
2. A : Replace master cylinder solenoid (See DISASSEMBLY ).
Inspect detection (4WD) switch (See INSPECTION ).
OK:

Detection (4WD) switch is normal.
1. NG : Replace detection (4WD) switch.
2. OK : Go to next step.
Check for open or short circuit in harness and connector between detection (4WD) switch and master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU).
1. NG : Repair or replace harness or connector.
2. OK : Go to next step.
Check for open or short circuit in harness and connector between master cylinder solenoid (skid control ECU) and ECM.
1. NG : Repair or replace harness or connector.
2. OK : END.

DTC is not output	B
