Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point CALIBRATION  .

HINT:

Remove the hydraulic brake booster before the inspection (see REMOVAL ).

  1. Check connection of the brake pump motor wire harness (MT+/MT-).

    PREPARATION:

Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 plugs from the hydraulic brake booster assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).

    CHECK:

Check the tightening torque of the 2 screws which tighten the wire harness connecting the hydraulic brake booster assembly and the brake booster pump (see DISASSEMBLY ).

OK : GO TO NEXT STEP

    Torque: 2.9 N.m (30 kgf.cm, 26 in.lbf)

    1. NG : Tighten the screws up, then go to step   3 .
    2. OK : Go to next step.
  2. Check resistance of the pump motor (MT+/MT-) wire harness.

    PREPARATION:

Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 screws and pull the wire harness from the hydraulic brake booster assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).

    CHECK:

Measure the resistance between the red wire (MT+) and the black wire (MT-).

    OK:

    Resistance: 2 Ω

    PREPARATION:

    1. Reassemble the hydraulic brake booster assembly.
    2. Install the hydraulic brake booster assembly (see REASSEMBLY ).
    3. Clear the DTCs.

    CHECK:

Check if the same DTCs are detected.

    RESULT:

    DTC OUTPUT RESULT

    DTC is output A
    DTC is not output B
    1. B : END.
    2. A : Replace master cylinder solenoid (See  DISASSEMBLY  ).
