Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step  1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step  2 when not using the hand-held tester.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT) 
   1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
   2. Start the engine.
   3. Select the item "SLIP INDI LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the SLIP indicator light on the hand-held tester.

   4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light are indicated on the combination meter when using the hand-held tester.

      OK: Turn the SLIP indicator light on or off in accordance with the hand-held tester. 

   1. NG: Go to step 2 
   2. OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
2. INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
   1. NG: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
   2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU) 
   1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S27 and ECM connector E5.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      S27-23 (ENG-) - E5-30 (ENG-)	Below 1 Ω

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard:

      S27-22 (TRC-) - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

   1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
   2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT) (SEE HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
   1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
   2. OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  )
