Removal & Installation (ECHO)

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Remove No. 2 cylinder head cover located on top of engine, above ignition coils and valve cover. Remove air cleaner assembly for access to Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR LOCATION  table. Disconnect electrical connector at ECT sensor.
  2. Drain cooling system. Remove ECT sensor and gasket. To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW gasket. Reinstall air cleaner assembly and No. 2 cylinder head cover. Fill cooling system.
