Axle Hub: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lexus LS 430, 2003 Lexus LS 430, and 2002 Lexus LS 430. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn off ignition.
  2. Remove front wheel.
  3. Place matchmarks on disc and axle hub. See Fig 1.
  4. Remove bolts and brake caliper. Support brake caliper securely.
  5. Disconnect speed sensor harness connector. See Fig 2.
  6. Check bearing backlash and axle hub deviation. See BEARING BACKLASH & AXLE HUB DEVIATION  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
  7. Remove bolts and axle hub with dust cover. See Fig 3.
