Test H: Seat Belt Warning Lamp For Driver's Seat Does Not Operate

  1. Check the combination meter assembly.
    • Check the driver seat belt warning operation. Remove the combination meter assembly with the connectors still connected. Ground the terminal No. C7-5 of the combination meter assembly connector. See Fig 1 and Figure . Check that the driver seat belt warning light lights up.
    • If the result is OK, go to the next step. If the result is not OK, check and replace the combination meter assembly.
  2. Check the wiring harness and connector between the center air bag sensor assembly and the left hand front seat inner belt assembly. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not OK, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
  3. Inspect the left hand front seat inner belt assembly:
    • Check the resistance between terminals No. 1 and 4 of the left hand front seat inner belt assembly. See LH FRONT SEAT INNER BELT RESISTANCE  table. See Figure.
    • If the continuity is OK, go to the next step. If the continuity is not OK, replace the left hand front seat inner belt assembly. See POSITION CONTROL ECU under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS article in SEATS.
  4. Check the wiring harness or connector between the center air bag sensor assembly and the left hand front seat inner belt assembly. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not OK, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
  5. Check the wiring harness and connector between the left hand front seat inner belt assembly and the body ground. If the results are OK, check and replace the center air bag sensor assembly. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. If the results are not OK, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
