- Crankshaft position sensor is located on front of engine, near crankshaft pulley. See Figure.
- Manufacturer recommends removing crankshaft position sensor before checking the resistance. Manufacturer states intake manifold must be removed for removal of crankshaft position sensor. Remove crankshaft position sensor. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR under IGNITION SYSTEMS in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - 4-CYLINDER article.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between electrical terminals on crankshaft position sensor. Replace crankshaft position sensor if resistance is not within specification. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE table. Reinstall crankshaft position sensor.
