Removal & Installation (Swift W/ABS)

Disconnect fluid level sensor lead wire (if equipped). Using syringe, remove brake fluid from reservoir. Disconnect brakelines on master cylinder. Loosen brake lines at ABS unit and swivel away from master cylinder for clearance. Cap all brakelines, and plug holes. Remove 2 nuts attaching master cylinder to brake booster, and remove master cylinder.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Install master cylinder first, then swivel brake lines at ABS unit up to master cylinder and tighten. Bench bleed master cylinder and bleed brake system after installation. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Check and adjust push rod clevis and piston rod. See BRAKE BOOSTER PUSHROD (BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT)  and BRAKE BOOSTER PISTON ROD  under ADJUSTMENTS.
