Side impact sensor (rear wheel house)

CAUTION:

Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat) for the airbag system is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.

Before installation, inspect the following items and replace any faulty part with a new one.
- Side impact sensor (rear wheel house) or connector is damaged.
- Curtain airbag module has been activated.
Using a new nut, install Side impact sensor (rear wheel house).
CAUTION: When installing the sensor, insert the set pin on the backside of the sensor into the hole on the body side securely.

Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
Connect the airbag connector. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>EACH IMPACT SENSOR .
Install the trim panel assembly apron. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR QUARTER TRIM>INSTALLATION .
Install the rear seat cushion assembly. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
