Power Seat

Except for RECARO® seat

CAUTION:

Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to  AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION 

  1. Prior to starting work, check the following precautions. Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION 
  2. Remove the front seat from vehicle. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>REMOVAL 
  3. Remove the cover hinge outside.
    1. Remove the knob power seat.

    2. Release it from the hinge base cover outside in the rear side.
    3. Release the clips.
    4. Pull forward to release the claw (a) and remove the cover hinge outside.
    5. Disconnect the switch assembly power seat connector and remove the cover hinge outside.

  4. Remove the belt assembly front INN. Ref. to SEAT BELT SYSTEM>FRONT SEAT BELT>REMOVAL>BELT ASSEMBLY FRONT INN
  5. Remove the cover hinge inside.
    1. Release it from the hinge base cover inside in the rear side.
    2. Release the metal clip (a) in the front side, and detach the cover hinge inside.

  6. Separate the backrest assembly and the seat cushion assembly.
    1. Remove the harness on the back side of the seat cushion assembly.
      • Side airbag harness
      • Harness assembly backrest
      • Seat heater harness on the backrest side
    2. Remove the bolts from reclining hinge of both sides.

    3. While taking care not to damage the airbag harness, separate the backrest assembly and the seat cushion assembly.
  7. Remove the seat pad assembly cushion and the cover cushion front seat.
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the plastic hook on the front side, and remove the J-fastener.
    3. Unfasten the J-fastener on the right, left and rear side.
    4. Remove the seat pad assembly cushion and the cover cushion front seat from the seat cushion assembly.

  8. Remove the screws and remove the cover INN cushion outside and the cover INN cushion inside.

  9. Remove the screws and clips and remove the cover riser link and the cover riser BRKT INN.

  10. Remove the harness assembly seat cushion.
    NOTE:

    Routing of the harness varies depending on the specifications. For easier assembly work, it is recommended to take pictures before removing the harness. 

  11. Remove the panel front wire.

  12. Remove the bolts, and remove the panel assembly cushion.

  13. Remove the cover cushion front seat.
    CAUTION:
    • If the seat heater unit is removed, replace the seat pad assembly with a new part. 
    • If the seat heater unit is reused, remove the polyurethane section and double-sided tape from the reverse side completely. Use new double-sided tape. 

      Preparation items: 

      Double-sided tape: NITTO DENKO 501L or equivalent 

    1. Remove the hog ring.

    2. Pull out the seat pad assembly cushion from the cover cushion front seat.
  14. Remove the seat pad assembly backrest and the cover backrest front seat.
    1. Remove the plastic fastener at the back side (bottom) of backrest assembly.
    2. Open the fastener at the rear side of backrest assembly.

    3. Remove the hog rings and the resin fasteners (a) on the left and right.

    4. Remove the hexagon cap nut.

    5. Remove the seat pad assembly backrest and the cover backrest front seat from the seat backrest assembly.
  15. Remove the side airbag module.
    CAUTION:

    Do not open the protective cover of the side airbag module. If any damage is present in the protective cover or the cloth of side airbag module comes out from the protective cover slit, replace the side airbag module with a new part. 

    1. Remove the self-locking nut.
    2. While taking care not to damage the airbag protective cover, remove the side airbag module.

  16. Remove the bushing headrest.
    NOTE:

    Catch the tip of headrest bushing with pliers and push it from inside seat to outside to remove it.

  17. Pull out the seat frame assembly backrest.
  18. Remove the screws and detach the hinge base cover inside and the hinge base cover outside.

  19. Remove the harness assembly backrest.
  20. Remove the flat mat & hook spring assembly.

  21. Remove the cover backrest front seat.
    CAUTION:
    • If the seat heater unit is removed, replace the seat pad assembly with a new part. 
    • If the seat heater unit is reused, remove the polyurethane section and double-sided tape from the reverse side completely. Use new double-sided tape. 

      Preparation items: 

      Double-sided tape: NITTO DENKO 501L or equivalent 

    1. Remove the hog ring.

    2. Pull out the seat pad assembly backrest from the cover backrest front seat.
      NOTE:

      Pull it out so that the tape (a) of the seat pad assembly backrest does not come off. 



RECARO® seat

CAUTION:

  1. Prior to starting work, check the following precautions. Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION 
  2. Remove the front seat from vehicle. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>REMOVAL 
  3. Remove the cover hinge outside.
    1. Remove the knob power seat.

    2. Release it from the hinge base cover outside in the rear side.
    3. Release the clips.
    4. Pull forward to release the claw (a) and remove the cover hinge outside.
    5. Disconnect the switch assembly power seat connector and remove the cover hinge outside.

  4. Remove the belt assembly front INN. Ref. to SEAT BELT SYSTEM>FRONT SEAT BELT>REMOVAL>BELT ASSEMBLY FRONT INN
  5. Remove the cover hinge inside.
    1. Release it from the hinge base cover inside in the rear side.
    2. Release the metal clip (a) in the front side, and detach the cover hinge inside.

  6. Separate the backrest assembly and the seat cushion assembly.
    1. Remove the harness on the back side of the seat cushion assembly.
      • Side airbag harness
      • Harness assembly backrest
      • Seat heater harness on the backrest side
    2. Remove the bolts from reclining hinge of both sides.

    3. While taking care not to damage the airbag harness, separate the backrest assembly and the seat cushion assembly.
      CAUTION:

      Do not disassemble the backrest assembly. 

  7. Remove the seat pad assembly cushion and the cover cushion front seat.
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the plastic hook on the front side, and remove the J-fastener.
    3. Unfasten the J-fastener on the right, left and rear side.
    4. Remove the seat pad assembly cushion and the cover cushion front seat from the seat cushion assembly.

  8. Remove the screws and remove the cover INN cushion outside and the cover INN cushion inside.

  9. Remove the screws and clips and remove the cover riser link and the cover riser BRKT INN.

  10. Remove the harness assembly seat cushion.
    NOTE:

    Routing of the harness varies depending on the specifications. For easier assembly work, it is recommended to take pictures before removing the harness.

  13. Remove the cover cushion front seat.
    CAUTION:

    2. Pull out the seat pad assembly cushion from the cover cushion front seat.
