The Screen Is Blacked Out, Or The Screen Is Not Displayed

Probable cause: 

Power supply circuit malfunction, illumination circuit malfunction, unit body malfunction

  1. CHECK WARNING LIGHT IN THE COMBINATION METER  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Check warning light illumination in the combination meter.

    Does the warning light illuminate?

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  : Check the power supply circuit. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>POWER WILL NOT TURN ON. ILLUMINATION DOES NOT LIGHT 

  2. CHECK RESTARTING DISPLAY  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Wait for at least 10 minutes after the combination display turned off.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    Is the screen properly displayed?

    Yes  : The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    No  : Go to  3.

  3. CHECK COMBINATION METER  .

    Read the DTC of [Combination Meter] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

    Are any DTCs displayed? (Current code)

    Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST 

    No  : Go to  4.

  4. CHECK COCKPIT CONTROL MODULE  .

    Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

    Are any DTCs displayed? (Current code)

    Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST

    No  : Go to  5.

  5. CHECK CONNECTOR  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Check if the connector is connected to the combination meter and there is poor contact in the connector.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : Go to  6.

    No  : Engage the connector properly, or repair the faulty portion and check the operation.

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR  .

    Check if the connector is connected to the cockpit control module and there is poor contact in the connector.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : Replace the combination meter. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER

    No  : Engage the connector properly, or repair the faulty portion and check the operation.
