Phone Conversation Is Not Possible. (The Microphone Does Not Respond To A Voice. No Sound Is Heard From The Speaker.)

Probable cause: 

Microphone malfunction, speaker malfunction, DCM malfunction

Wiring diagram: 

Telematics Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>TELEMATICS SYSTEM>WIRING DIAGRAM

CAUTION:

Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to  TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION  

  1. CHECK DTCS  .

    Read the DTC of [Telematics] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

    When DTC B2A04 is displayed, go to  A. (Current code or history code)

    When DTC B2A05 is displayed, go to  B. (Current code or history code)

    When DTC B2A06 is displayed, go to  C. (Current code or history code)

    If no DTC is displayed, go to  D.

    1. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC B2A04 MIC CIRCUIT 
    2. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC B2A05 LEFT SPEAKER/AUDIO CIRCUIT 
    3. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC B2A06 RIGHT SPEAKER/AUDIO CIRCUIT 
    4. Go to  2.
  2. CHECK THE SPEAKER OPERATION  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Active Test] of [Telematics]. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>ACTIVE TEST 

    • Speaker ON

    Does it sound?

    Yes  : Go to  4.

    No  : Go to  3.

  3. CHECK THE SPEAKER  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Using a tester, measure the internal resistance of each speaker.

      Terminals 

      Without audio amplifier 

      Side tweeter (in the figure below) 

      No. 1 - No. 2:

      Front door speaker 

      No. 1 - No. 2:

      With audio amplifier 

      Side tweeter 

      No. 3 - No. 4:

    Is the resistance 3.2 Ω or more? (Side tweeter without audio amplifier)

    Is the resistance 3.1 Ω or more? (Front door speaker without audio amplifier)

    Is the resistance 3.4 Ω or more? (Side tweeter with audio amplifier)

    Yes  : Go to  4.

    No  : Replace the speaker. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>FRONT SPEAKER

  4. CHECK THE TELEPHONE CALL  .
    1. Place the mobile phone in the vehicle.
    2. Establish a Bluetooth connection between the mobile phone in the vehicle and the vehicle unit.
    3. Make a call from outside to the mobile phone in the vehicle.
    4. Check that a telephone call is available through the in-vehicle microphone with the handsfree function.

    Is a telephone call successful?

    Yes  : The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE:

    In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. 

    No  : Perform the diagnosis according to inspection for DTC B2A04 MIC CIRCUIT. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC B2A04 MIC CIRCUIT
