Switching From Seat Ventilation To Seat Heater Is Not Possible
Trouble symptom:
The operation mode does not change to the seat heater, even if the seat heater switch is touched while the seat ventilation is operating.
Trouble causes:
- Seat ventilation control module failure
- A/C control module failure
- Seat ventilation circuit failure
- Seat heater circuit failure
- Center information display failure
- Cockpit control module failure
- Seat ventilation blower failure
- Seat heater failure
- CHECK CONNECTOR
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Check connecting condition of the seat ventilation control module connector (St41), A/C control module connectors (i107) (i108), seat connectors (L57) (R57), coupling connectors (B43) (L51) (R51) (St21) (St22), heater connectors (St27) (St28), and blower connectors (St71) (St72).
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 2 .
No: Repair the connector.
- CHECK DTC

- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Read the following DTCs using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes: Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
No: Go to 3 .
- CHECK DISPLAY OF CENTER INFORMATION DISPLAY

- Operate the seat ventilation.
- Touch the seat heater switch.
- Check if the display on the center information display changes.
Does the display change?
Yes: Go to 4 .
- CHECK SEAT VENTILATION OPERATION STATUS
.
- Operate the seat ventilation.
- Touch the seat heater switch.
- Check if the seat ventilation is operating.
Is the seat ventilation operating?
Yes: Go to 5 .
- CHECK SEAT HEATER OPERATION STATUS
.
- Activate the seat heater.
- After touching the seat ventilation switch, check if the seat heater is operating.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check if the following items in [Data monitor] of [Ventilation Seat] are either [HIGH], [MID] or [LOW]. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Data Monitor .

NOTE: Touching the seat heater switch several times changes the display as [HIGH] $Rr [MID] $Rr [LOW] $Rr [OFF] $Rr [HIGH] $Rr • • • - After a predetermined period of time, check if the seat heater is operating.
Is the seat heater operating?
Yes: Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SEAT VENTILATION DOES NOT TURN OFF, SEAT HEATER OPERATES .
