Switching From Seat Ventilation To Seat Heater Is Not Possible (Display Does Not Change Either)

Trouble symptom: 

The display on the center information display does not change, even if the seat ventilation switch is touched while the seat heater is operating.

Trouble causes: 

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK CONNECTOR  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Check connecting condition of the seat ventilation control module connector (St41), A/C control module connectors (i107) (i108), seat connectors (L57) (R57), coupling connectors (B43) (L51) (R51) (St21) (St22), heater connectors (St27) (St28), and blower connectors (St71) (St72).

      Is the check result OK?

      Yes:  Go to  2 .

      No:  Repair the connector.

  2. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Read the following DTCs using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
      • Ventilation Seat
      • Body Control
      • Air Conditioner
      • Cockpit Control

      Are any DTCs displayed?

      Yes:  Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

      No:  Go to  3 .

  3. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .
    1. Start the engine.
    2. Touch the seat ventilation switch on the center information display.
    3. Touch the seat heater switch.
    4. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Ventilation Seat]. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Data Monitor .
      • Seat Heater Operation Steps(Driver's)
      • Seat Heater Operation Steps(Passenger's)
      • Seat Ventilation Operation Steps(Driver's)
      • Seat Ventilation Operation Steps(Passenger's)

      Is the seat ventilation level [OFF], and is the seat heater level at [HIGH]?

      NOTE: Touching the seat heater switch several times changes the display as [HIGH] $Rr [MID] $Rr [LOW] $Rr [OFF] $Rr [HIGH] $Rr

      Yes:  Perform the inspection according to the [Cockpit Control] diagnosis. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .

      No:  Replace the seat ventilation control module. Ref. to SEATS>SEAT VENTILATION SYSTEM .
