Rear Seat: Disassembly

  1. Prior to starting work, check the following precautions. Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  2. Remove the rear seat. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the headrest assembly - rear backrest.
  4. Remove the armrest assembly - rear center. (Models with armrest)
    1. Remove the cover - armrest by pulling it in the direction of the arrow (black).
    2. Remove the screws and remove the armrest assembly - rear center.

    NOTE: The armrest assembly - rear center cannot be detached unless pin positions on the RH side of the backrest assembly and on the center side of the armrest assembly - rear are aligned.
  5. Remove the knob - backrest. (Screw-in type)

  6. Remove the clips on the backside of the cover COMPL - rear backrest.

  7. Turn over the cover COMPL - rear backrest.
    1. Detach the plastic fastener at the bottom of backrest assembly and turn over the cover COMPL - rear backrest.

    2. Remove the tether anchor cover by inserting your hand from the inside of back board and pad. (5 door model)
      CAUTION: Pay attention to the burrs on the panel edge.

    NOTE: Pull up the pad and cover to remove the tether anchor cover.
  8. Remove the plastic hooks on the back side of the backrest assembly.

  9. Remove the lock assembly - rear backrest rear.
    CAUTION: Pay attention to the burrs on the panel edge.

  10. Remove the bushing - headrest and the bushing - lock assembly.

    NOTE: Catch the tip of the bushing - headrest with pliers and push it outward from the inside of seat to remove it.
  11. For the backrest LH, remove the hog ring and wire clamp. (Impreza model with armrest)

  12. For the backrest LH, remove the hog ring, wire clamp and J-fastener. (Crosstrek model with armrest)

  13. Remove the frame assembly - rear backrest.
  14. Remove the hog rings, then remove the cover COMPL - rear backrest.

  15. Remove the hog rings on the back side of the rear seat cushion assembly.

  16. Remove the hog rings, then remove the cover - rear cushion.
