Thermostat Cover

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  3. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  4. Disconnect radiator outlet hose.

  5. Remove the thermostat cover.

  6. Remove the thermostat. (2.0 L model)
  7. Remove the gasket from thermostat. (2.0 L model)
  8. Remove the gasket from the oil pan upper. (2.5 L model)
