Clutch Pipe and Hose: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.

  4. Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.

  5. Drain the brake fluid. Ref. to CLUTCH SYSTEM>CLUTCH FLUID .
  6. Disconnect the vacuum pipe & hose assembly.

  7. Remove the clutch pipe.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to spill the brake fluid. Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.

  8. Remove the clutch hose bracket.
  9. Remove the clamp, and then remove the clutch hose.

  10. Remove the clutch hose from operating cylinder.
  11. Disconnect the clutch pipe.

  12. Remove the two-way connector and the clutch connector bracket.

  13. Remove the tank hose.

  14. Remove the instrument panel lower cover. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
  15. Remove the steering column. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING COLUMN>REMOVAL .
  16. Remove the clutch pedal assembly. Ref. to CLUTCH SYSTEM>CLUTCH PEDAL>REMOVAL .
  17. Remove the clutch pipe from the mass damper, clutch damper, master cylinder and clutch pipe grommet.
